Universal’s ‘Monkey Man’ Features Black Sheep Music’s Track ‘War Drums’

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a bit of what's been happening behind the scenes with one of our latest projects that we're pretty stoked about. We had the opportunity to have our work featured in the new TV spot ‘nobody’ for the film "Monkey Man."

For those who haven't caught the buzz yet, "Monkey Man" is directed by the incredibly talented Dev Patel, who not only directed it, but also acted AND contributed to the screenplay and story. The film's packed with action beyond belief and we couldn’t be more grateful to have our work featured in this spot~

Our song "War Drums," composed by Nathan Fields was released on our Battle Cry EP via Black Sheep Music, our music publishing imprint. The funny part is, for being titled “War Drums,” the editing team put their own spin on it and emphasized the pulsing, driving synth elements and sound design for this spot rather than the percussion heavy sections of the track. It’s so cool seeing how editors find unique ways to mangle and manipulate our tracks to fit their vision!

To our readers, thanks for letting us share this slice of our work life with you. Whether it's diving deep into the world of films like "Monkey Man" or exploring different soundscapes, our passion for music drives us every step of the way. Here's to more projects where we can do what we love and share it with all of you. Last but not least, big thanks to Universal for working with us once again!

Catch you in the next post!
