Protecting the Amazon: Join Rareform Audio & Black Sheep Music in Supporting Junglekeepers' Vital Mission

Hello Friends,

Nathan here. You may have seen my recent blog post or social media update where I mention how I got into composing music for film trailers, thanks to a woman my dad met in the Peruvian Amazon. Well regardless of my personal gratitude for the career I have today, the Amazon needs our help.

Today, I want to talk to you about a cause that's close to our hearts to the Rareform Audio and Black Sheep Music team – the incredible work being done by Junglekeepers to protect the Amazon rainforest. As many of you know, the Amazon is often referred to as the "lungs of the Earth," and its preservation is critical not just for the environment, but for the survival of countless species and indigenous communities.

Junglekeepers is currently focused on protecting the Las Piedras River corridor in the Peruvian Amazon. This area is part of the Madre de Dios region, one of the most biodiverse and pristine areas on the planet. Unfortunately, this vital ecosystem faces serious threats from illegal logging, poaching, and gold mining, which are devastating the forest and its inhabitants.

Junglekeepers is on the frontline of this battle, with their rangers patrolling and safeguarding almost 77,000 acres of this incredible landscape. The rangers' work is essential, but it requires substantial resources. Their program costs include ranger compensation, trail maintenance, communication systems, boat transport, fuel, and more.

Right now, Junglekeepers has a specific fundraising goal to protect a new area of land. They need to raise $300,000, and thanks to a generous donor, every dollar donated will be matched up to $150,000. As of now, they've already raised $131,000, and we at Rareform Audio/Black Sheep Music, have contributed $10,000 towards this cause. This means they’re incredibly close to reaching their goal.

But our support for Junglekeepers must go beyond this specific fundraiser. While protecting this particular stretch of land is critical, the fight to conserve the Amazon is ongoing. The threats to this ecosystem won't disappear once this target is met. Continuous support is needed to ensure that Junglekeepers can keep their rangers in the field, maintain their equipment, and expand their protected areas.

This forest is home to tens of millions of trees, numerous indigenous communities, and untold numbers of animal heartbeats. It's one of the last remaining refuges for isolated tribes and a treasure trove of biodiversity. Our contributions, no matter how small, help safeguard this invaluable resource for future generations.

If you're inspired to help, I encourage you to contribute to Junglekeepers' fundraiser to protect the Las Piedras River corridor. Even more impactful, consider setting up a recurring donation to provide steady support for their ongoing efforts. You can find more information and donate directly at Junglekeepers.

Thank you for joining us in this vital mission to protect the Amazon. Together, we can make a significant difference.

-Nathan
